Upgrading from my trusty OnePlus 7T (battery is totally shot now and the screen is starting to ghost, RIP) to the OnePlus 15 next month. Need some decent wireless earbuds to go with it. My budget is around $150-$200 tops, and honestly, my main priorities are solid battery life and a secure fit since I wear them running. Plus I need something that won't lag when watching videos (low latency is a must).
So I was looking around online—I read that the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 are obviously the best ecosystem match, but then on Reddit some people said the ANC drops connection randomly with non-OnePlus devices... wait, I am getting a OnePlus phone so maybe that's fine? But then I also checked out the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, which look awesome, but I'm worried I'll lose out on some features since I'm not using a Samsung. Ugh. My logic was to just stick to the brand match, but now I'm second-guessing everything.
Oh, and I definitely want something with decent waterproofing (IP57 or better if possible) for sweat.
Anyone using the new OnePlus flagship with third-party buds? Or should I just grab the Buds Pro 3 and call it a day?
Look, reply 1 nailed it. Stop overthinking the ecosystem tax and grab the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 since you're already buying the phone anyway.
Adding my two cents, honestly just get the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 since you already have the phone. Ngl the ecosystem features make life way easier for that low latency you need.
So funny you ask this — last summer I went through the exact same rabbit hole upgrading my gear and stressing over ecosystem lock-in. I ended up grabbing the brand-matching buds just to keep things simple, and honestly, it made running and streaming totally seamless.
