Honestly fed up with my old Pixel 6. The battery barely lasts half a day and the fingerprint reader fails constantly. Just upgraded to the OnePlus 15 and I'm stressing about ruining the screen since I really need a solid camera and compactish size this time around. Which screen protector actually works well with the in-display fingerprint scanner without messing it up?
Oh man this is my jam! For the OnePlus 15 scanner, grab Spigen Glas.TR EZ Fit 0.3mm Tempered Glass for easy install, or Whitestone Dome Glass UV Liquid Adhesive if you want zero sensor lag. Anyway, bottom line is go with the Spigen.
@Reply #1 - good point! But honestly, paying twenty bucks for glass protector kits feels a bit steep when you've got three kids to feed (trust me, every dollar counts). I went the budget route and grabbed the Ibywind Screen Protector for OnePlus 15 on Amazon for like ten bucks, and it comes with three in the pack plus a camera protector — talk about value. The fingerprint scanner works totally fine once you re-register your prints with touch sensitivity toggled on. Dealer wanted a ridiculous amount for official stuff, but doing it myself saved me a ton.
Look, this comes up a lot on here, but I gotta disagree with going the absolute cheapest route when it comes to curved or modern in-display sensors. (Though I totally respect trying to save a buck with kids around!) The thing you really want to watch out for — and trust me on this, I learned the hard way last year — is cheap adhesive that starts lifting at the edges after a couple of weeks, letting dust right into the optical scanner cutout. You end up with ghost touches and a completely dead fingerprint reader anyway, meaning you just wasted ten bucks and have to scrape the whole mess off. If you're gonna protect a nice display, just make sure whatever film or glass you pick doesn't have garbage glue, or you'll be doing the whole install over again by next month.
