Just upgraded from an old Pixel 3a. That phone screen was a nightmare to keep clean and it cracked way too easily. I'm really liking the OnePlus 12R so far, especially the battery life, but I'm terrified of scratching this new display. I'm totally lost looking at all the options online since I've never used a protector before. I don't have a huge budget, just want something reliable that won't ruin the touch sensitivity or look super bulky. Does anyone have a recommendation for a screen protector that's easy to put on for a beginner?

So funny you ask this — last summer I dropped my phone on a literal gravel path right after getting it and I nearly cried. I was convinced the screen was toast but luckily I had a glass protector on there that just shattered instead of the actual display. Ever since that day, I dont even take the phone out of the box until I have a protector ready to go. Since you have the 12R, those curved edges can be a pain, but honestly, you should check out the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12R because it makes the process so much less stressful. I know it sounds intimidating to use the liquid adhesive, but the kit comes with an alignment frame that basically does all the work for you. It cures with a UV light which sounds extra but it keeps the touch sensitivity perfect and doesnt leave that weird gap on the sides like the cheap plastic ones do. If you want something way cheaper and simpler, grab the Spigen AlignMaster Screen Protector for OnePlus 12R instead. The installation tray is basically foolproof; you just drop the glass in and push down. It feels like real glass because it is, so it stays slick and clean way better than those rubbery film protectors. Just clean the screen with the alcohol wipe until its spotless and you wont have any bubbles. Its honestly a life saver, just get one on there ASAP.

Building on the earlier suggestion, Spigen AlignMaster Tempered Glass is the most reliable option if you want zero bubbles. It's foolproof for beginners and won't interfere with the under-display fingerprint sensor.

Man, I remember being just as paranoid when I got my first phone with a curved display. I actually tried a few cheap plastic ones first, but they peeled right off at the corners—super annoying. Honestly, if you want something that feels invisible and doesn't break the bank, you should grab the Ibywind Tempered Glass Screen Protector for OnePlus 12R. It comes with an alignment tool that makes it impossible to mess up, and it's worked perfectly for me.

Like someone mentioned, those alignment tools are decent, but honestly, don't buy into the hype that you need the most expensive kit. Most of these brands are just white-labeling the same stuff anyway. Just make sure you clean the screen until it's perfect—like, use a flashlight to check for dust—because that's honestly the only thing that actually ruins the installation. Forget the branding and just get whatever has decent reviews.
