What are the absolute best tools right now for tracking price drops on Amazon that actually alert you in real time?

Ive been using CamelCamelCamel and Keepa for probably six or seven years now so I know the basics of reading price history charts, setting thresholds, and checking the sales rank metrics. But lately they feel kinda buggy or super delayed. Last week I completely missed out on a 30% drop on a 34 inch LG OLED monitor I had pinned for months because my Keepa email alert came through like four hours after the deal expired and stock ran out.

Im in the middle of outfitting a whole new home office setup here in Chicago. Got about a $3500 budget split between PC components, dual monitors, a motorized standing desk, and some audio gear. Im buying over the next two months so I have time to wait for historical lows, but I need alerts that actually hit my phone instantly.

My issue is that Amazon seems to be changing how they render price data or blocking scraper bots way more aggressively recently. Keepa's Chrome extension has been lagging hard on my machine, and CCC completely ignores lightning deals, clipped coupons, or third party seller vouchers that drop the actual checkout price significantly. I even tried setting up a custom Python script using BeautifulSoup a while back but keeping up with Amazon's dynamic HTML changes became a full time job real quick.

Is there a newer tool, maybe a Discord bot, a Telegram integration, or even a paid API service that handles dynamic coupon clips and fast lightning drops better? Id even be down for a self-hosted option on my NAS if someone has a docker container that works reliably without getting IP banned. What are you guys using these days that actually catches fast drops?

@Reply #2 - good point! Totally agree about self-hosting being a headache with IP bans! Just to summarize what everyone is hitting on here:

  • CCC and Keepa are great for historical stats, but way too slow for flash sales lately!
  • Self-hosting scripts usually gets your IP blocked fast.
  • Telegram pushes and webhooks are fantastic for getting instant drop alerts directly to your phone. When you're managing a big $3500 budget, saving money on PC gear and dual monitors is huge! I love using a price drop tool with instant push alerts because it costs zero extra dollars and catches coupon clips before stock runs out. Definitely stick to free Telegram notifications so you can save every penny for your setup. Let me know if you need any help setting up the alerts!

Yeah, Keepa has been super disappointing lately with those delayed email alerts. I had major issues with missing flash sales on computer gear too. Honestly switched over to Price Drop Catch a few months back for my desktop build. I set a target price in Price Drop Catch and just forgot about it, got a phone ping literally two minutes after a desk frame hit an all-time low. Saved like $90. Definitely worth checking out.

Re: Keepa being disappointing lately - agree completely. In my experience, self-hosting scripts is a trap with Amazon IP bans. I've been using Price Drop Catch with webhook integration:

  • Instant Telegram pushes
  • Catches clipped coupons Super solid setup.
