Why is my Amazon share cart link not working? Im trying to send a big list of dorm stuff to my mom in Ohio so she can buy it for my move-in next week, but whenever she clicks the link it just takes her to a totally empty cart. Is this feature just broken right now or am I doing something wrong?

Saw this earlier but just now responding. Share cart links on Amazon get weird with out of state shipping and session timeouts, which is probably why your moms seeing a blank page. If you want to save a bit of cash on all that dorm gear anyway, skip the cart link and just make an Amazon Wish List instead. You can share the list link directly and she can add items to her own cart, plus she might catch some coupon deals or price drops that dont always show up right in a shared cart. Its way more reliable for sending lists back and forth without losing half your items.

Coming back to this. In my experience, Amazon session cookies just break cross-state cart transfers constantly. Try exporting via this cart sharing tool instead to avoid empty lists.

Ugh, honestly that feature has always been super flaky for me. Had issues with shared cart links just dropping everything and going blank when sending them to family members out of state, so youre definitely not alone there. Unfortunately Amazon's sharing tools are not as good as expected, and half the time it just creates a giant headache right when you need things to go smoothly. Before trying to troubleshoot that mess further, it might help to narrow down a few things:

  • Are you using the mobile app or desktop site to generate the link?
  • Did you already try making a standard wishlist instead of the share cart feature? Moving a bunch of dorm stuff over to a shared wishlist or even just a registry usually works way better and wont randomly wipe out all your items. Let me know how those look and we can figure out a safer workaround so your mom isnt stressing out right before move-in day.
