What screen protector is actually worth it for the iPhone 17e? I'm upgrading from an iPhone 13 mini because the battery life is basically non-existent now and I'm tired of the screen being covered in micro-scratches. I really need something that doesn't mess with the camera quality since that's my main reason for the upgrade.
I’ve been doing some research and saw a lot of people recommending Spigen, but then I read a few threads claiming the adhesive ruins the oleophobic coating over time. Another site suggested those privacy filters, but I'm worried they'll make the screen look grainy or dim, which defeats the purpose of the new display. My budget is around $30, but I’m super anxious about messing up the install or getting a protector that just cracks after a week. There are too many options on Amazon and I can't tell which reviews are paid for and which are legit. Does anyone have a specific brand that doesn't feel like plastic and won't make me regret putting it on?
@Reply #1 - good point! The alignment trays are definitely a life-saver for shaky hands, but tbh, I wouldn't go with Spigen if you're worried about the coating. I've switched over to Torras Diamond Shield Tempered Glass lately and it feels way more premium than the cheaper ones. It doesn't have that weird plastic-y drag when you're scrolling, and it’s super clear so your camera quality stays top-tier.
Rarely post here, but saw this and had to chime in. You've got folks debating trays versus coating, but honestly, you're overthinking the brand names. Regarding what #2 said about the Torras Diamond Shield Tempered Glass, it's solid, but if you want the absolute best clarity for your new camera, stop looking at anything other than ESR Armorite Screen Protector.
Honestly, I get the anxiety. I have used Spigen GlasTR EZ Fit Tempered Glass for years and never had issues with the adhesive. It comes with an alignment tray which is huge for peace of mind. Just make sure your screen is spotless before you drop it on. If you are really worried about the install, I would recommend getting it professionally done if you are not sure. Better safe than sorry...
