Omg Im so excited because I just finally upgraded my phone to the iPhone 14 and honestly the camera on this thing is unreal compared to my old crusty phone lol. But tbh Im super paranoid about scratching the lenses since they stick out so much?? Like I do a ton of travel vlogging and random street photography trips, so my phone is constantly getting shoved into pockets and backpack side pouches with keys and stuff, and Im terrified Im gonna wreck the glass before my trip next month.

So I was thinking I definitely need some kind of armor for it. Ive been doing some late night doom-scrolling trying to figure out whats actually good. I read on reddit that Spigen makes solid ones and the individual metal rings look pretty sleek, but then other people say glass protectors ruin your night mode photos and cause massive glare and lens flare when shooting street lights at night, which is like half of what I shoot! And my budget is pretty tight right now cause the phone itself wiped me out, so I dont wanna spend like $40 on a tiny piece of glass if it's gonna fog up or pop off after two days. My logic was maybe I just get a cheap pack off Amazon, but then what if the glue leaves residue on the actual camera rings? Im kinda a beginner when it comes to phone accessories since I usually just rock a basic case, so all these individual glass covers vs full plate protectors are totally confusing me.

So what are the best camera lens protectors for iPhone 14 that wont mess up my travel videos or night shots?

Congrats on the upgrade! This question comes up a lot — search the forum, there's a giant thread about it somewhere, but the short answer is honestly just skip the individual glass covers if you're doing street photography at night. They bounce light everywhere and ruin nighttime shots.

  • Spigen Optik Armor (around $15-$20) — has a sliding door so your glass stays bare while shooting.
  • Spigen GlasTR EZ FIT Camera Lens Protector (roughly $13) — if you really want physical glass over the lenses without paying a fortune. Just stick to a case with a sliding cover or be super careful with your keys, because that extra glass layer always catches glare from streetlights eventually. Good luck on the trip!

Rarely post on here, but saw this and had to chime in because I shoot a ton of street photography too and made every mistake in the book with these things. Those individual glass caps trap moisture and bounce city lights right back into your sensor (ruining night shots completely). Skip the extra glass entirely and get a case with a built-in sliding door, or just trust a good case lip.

  • Spigen Optik Armor Case iPhone 14 (absolute lifesaver for travel, slide it shut in your bag, slide it open for crisp photos)
  • OtterBox Defender Series Case iPhone 14 (super deep recessed bezels that keep keys away from the glass without adding garbage over the lenses) Seriously, save your money and your night photos — bare glass with a proper lip is always better than cheap Amazon glass.

I ditched those glass covers after ruining all my night shots in Tokyo — grab the Spigen Optik Armor Case iPhone 14 for like twenty bucks instead, because the sliding door keeps your lenses totally naked while shooting and protected in your bag.

Just catching up on this thread — honestly the whole accessory market drives me crazy these days. It's such a scam how companies charge forty bucks for a tiny piece of glass that costs pennies to make, and half the time the quality is completely garbage (don't even get me started on the glue residue).

  • Prices are totally out of hand
  • Quality control is non-existent Just make sure you double-check everything before trusting your gear.
