Finally upgrading from my beat-up OnePlus 7 Pro—man, that pop-up camera was ahead of its time, but the battery life is basically non-existent now. I've been digging through Reddit threads and a couple of YouTube reviews on the new OnePlus 15, but most people just talk about the screen specs or the Hasselblad sensor. I need something that actually protects the camera bump without making the phone feel like a literal brick (it's already huge!). I checked out the official sandstones, but they seem way too slippery for my butterfingers. Does anyone have a recommendation for a slim but rugged case that handles drops well? Also, does the case lip actually clear the lens array? Not trying to scratch that glass on day one...

Quick reply while I have a sec—honestly, everyone pushes Spigen, but they feel cheap to me. I’ve been using the UAG Metropolis LT OnePlus 15 Kevlar and it actually feels premium. It’s way thinner than the OtterBox Defender Series OnePlus 15 Rugged, which is just a total brick. The UAG one has a solid lip that protects the camera array, whereas the OtterBox is overkill unless you’re literally dropping it off a cliff.

> I need something that actually protects the camera bump without making the phone feel like a literal brick I recommend the Spigen Rugged Armor OnePlus 15 Case. It provides a raised lip to protect the camera array while remaining slim. It is very affordable compared to official options. Just make sure you double-check the fitment upon arrival. If you are not comfortable applying a screen protector yourself to match this, I would recommend getting it professionally done.

Regarding what #1 said about the camera lip, I totally agree. I spent all last week stressing over the same thing since the sensor is massive. I'm no expert, but here's what I found during my deep dive:

  • Look for cases with a 'stepped' design around the lenses.
  • Avoid anything perfectly flush. I think some of the hybrid models might offer better drop protection without adding crazy bulk, though I'm not 100% sure on the exact thickness yet.
