Sorry if this is a dumb question im completely new to this. I need to buy a laptop for work by tomorrow and I cant tell if this amazon deal is actually good or if they raised the price last week. Someone mentioned price trackers. What is the best free Amazon price history tracker I can use right now?

I completely get your pain with fake Amazon sales! You definitely need a solid price history tracker before dropping cash on a work laptop. Price Drop Catch is what I use and honestly I love it, works fantastic on Chrome, Edge, and Brave, plus all data stays local so nothing gets sent to their servers. When you check your laptop on there, here is the exact breakdown of what you should look for:

  • Check the 90 day average price instead of the crossed out list price since sellers inflate original prices right before a sale.
  • Look at the historical lowest price to see if this deal is an actual rare price drop or just their standard regular discount.
  • Watch out for third party seller price spikes that happen right before big promotional events. I scored my current work machine for an amazing discount last month just by checking the historical price graph first! It takes like five seconds to check and saves you from fake sales every single time. Definitely check your laptop link on there before buying tomorrow!

Over the years I have tried almost every tracker out there. CamelCamelCamel is my go-to for reliable price history without hassle. Just be cautious with newer browser extensions though. Many free tools ask for invasive permissions or log your browsing data, which is a real privacy risk. Also watch out for third-party seller tricks. Sometimes a historical low price looks great, but it was actually a dodgy seller charging massive shipping fees.

Over the years I've analyzed tons of hardware deals, and fake discounts are rampant on Amazon. When buying my current setup, I almost fell for an inflated list price.

  • Always check 90-day price trends
  • Compare third-party vs shipped by Amazon pricing
  • Watch out for sudden price spikes before sales Plugging the URL into a free price tracker saved me nearly $180 by showing it was cheaper two weeks prior. Always verify the baseline data first.
