Ive been an Ulta Diamond member for years so Im pretty familiar with how loyalty rewards, stackable coupons, and point multipliers work in retail. But my sister specifically asked for a bunch of Rare Beauty and Sol de Janeiro stuff for her wedding party gifts next month (Im in Austin TX if that matters for local store promos), so I finally created a Sephora account. Honestly I am so frustrated right now.
I have a $250 budget for this haul and I spent the last hour digging through their app trying to find a decent promo code or welcome discount and there is literally almost nothing? 15% off if I get their credit card which I do not want, or waiting months for a sale where base Insiders only get 10% off anyway. At Ulta I could easily stack 20% off prestige with points and GWPs. Their rewards program seems so stingy too, like 500 points for a tiny $10 discount?
Am I missing something hidden here or is it really this tough to save money as a new buyer? How do you guys actually get the best discounts when starting from scratch without Rouge status? Are there point multiplier events or cash back hacks I should wait for before ordering next week?
Sephora is definitely stingier than Ulta. If you want to stretch that $250 next week, here is what I suggest:
^ This. Also, buying direct is amazing! Just gotta drop a quick warning so you dont waste money:
Re: "Sephora is definitely stingier than Ulta." Totally agree, their rewards system is wild compared to Ulta! Here are a couple awesome alternatives I love using to max out that $250:
