Im trying to buy a new LG monitor before next Friday for a home office setup Im building, budget is around $350 max. But im honestly super paranoid about signing up for random services and getting my inbox spammed with sales junk.

I checked out Camelcamelcamel which seems alright but it only works for Amazon and I need to track prices across Best Buy and B&H too. Then someone recommended Honey, but my logic was avoiding anything that makes me create an account or installs heavy browser extensions that track everything I do.

Is there anything simple where you just paste a URL and check back without registering? Or am I overthinking this...

To add to the point above: avoiding account bloat is totally valid when deal hunting. In my experience over the years, heavy browser extensions hog memory and scrape data unnecessarily. When monitoring prices for my current setup last year, I ran into this exact barrier across multiple electronics stores. A few technical options I've used that require zero registration:

  • Open-source page monitors: Tools like ChangeDetection run locally and alert you when a price tag HTML element changes on any URL.
  • Public RSS feeds: Certain deal aggregators generate public RSS feeds for search queries that you can drop straight into a feed reader.
  • Bookmarklets: Simple local scripts in your browser bar can query public deal APIs directly. I ended up catching a huge drop on my main display this way without giving out my email once.

You are definitely not overthinking this! Keeping your inbox clean and avoiding heavy extensions is totally the right move, and I love that you're being cautious! I was in the exact same boat building my work setup recently. You really cannot go wrong with an LG display for a home office, they make fantastic monitors in that $300-$350 range! For zero-signup price checking, here is what works amazing:

  • I actually use Price Drop Catch for this — you just paste the link and it tracks prices across major retailers like Best Buy and B&H without forcing you to create an account or install anything!
  • Google Shopping search is another simple way to peek at recent price trends across stores without logging in. Just get whatever 27-inch LG panel hits your price target this week. Let me know if you want any tips on setting it up once you grab one!

  • Honestly, I kind of think you might be overthinking it just a tiny bit! Google Shopping is absolute magic for this exact problem and requires zero accounts or bloatware extensions. Just paste your specific LG model number straight into Google Shopping. It instantly pulls live prices across B&H, Best Buy, and Amazon side-by-side! I saved over $60 on my home display setup doing this exact thing. Let me know if you need any monitor recommendations under your $350 budget!
